Katharyn has recently wanted to get a new phone. When she received her phone last year, it was basically for emergency puposes. It definitely was not for talking. If any of you know my daughter she is a girl of VERY FEW words. She does not talk on the phone very much. She really didn't text anyone either. Well, her cousin who lives a few hours from us got a phone a few weeks ago. They have been texting quite a bit. Which is great because they don't get to see each other all the time. Well, about a week ago, Kat asked if she could get a new phone. She knew exactly which one she wanted. The red and white one.
I called to see if she was elligible for the complete discount yet. The man said no--Not until Feb. I told her that I would get her the phone in Feb--If she wanted it now, she had to earn the money and buy it herself. Totally fair I think. Anyway she had three babysitting jobs lined up. After two, she had $60.00 raised only $60 more to go. Halfway there. Not too bad. Well she asked if she could go to Barnes & Noble (her FAVORITE store). We went, and she walked out with the hard book copies of the 9th & 10th book of the Pendragon series. 35$ (w/discount) depleated her money by a little more than half. As a mom, I am glad that she'd rather have the books then the phone. Pretty awesome!
