MY FIRST WEEK AS A TEACHER IS OVER!!!

WHERE'S MY PAYCHECK!!! :)

No really, I didn't know I'd love what I'm doing so much. It's amazing how quickly you bond with the little ones that you are with. These children in the special Education world have a spririt like no other. Especially when they are little. There's a warmth around them that sucks you in. It's great!!!! It's been a struggle to create a schedule that fits everyone's requirements... An hour here an hour there 30 minutes here and in and out all day. It was tough trying to work with three teachers different schedules... But, we did it!!!! I have 2 GREAT Para-pros. They are so willing to help and do and be wherever they need to be. Everyone has been beyond nice!!!! I know that the Lord guided me to where I was. He has guided me my whole life and I see it. The transition has been so smooth and I am SO thankful for this opportunity. I am finally able to do the one thing that I've wanted to and haven't been able to. I only had 3 dreams in my life.

Be married to a wonderful man.
Have a wonderful family.
And teach the most precious children there are!!! (besides mine of course!)

Now of course all my wonderful paperwork really hasn't happened yet!!!!
That will begin very soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Kim, I can hear the...joy and satisfaction (are those the right words even?!) you feel after your first week. That is amazing that you have found something that you love to do. Your calling per say. Besides motherhood of course! I remember when we finally changed professions with Dan for the last time to send him into Education. He had searched so many different fields and jobs and nothing ever gave him that sense of satisfaction...

And luckily for you and Dan, you were able to figure out where you needed to be and what you should be doing. I think some people search their whole lives to figure that out...What a difference it makes!

I actually found you through Jenny's blog:) In HS one of my best friend's mother did what you are doing now and loved it, too. I know you will be great! It sounds like you already love it, and of course the kids. Did I read somewhere that you are working with 2nd graders mostly? That is a fun age/grade:)
