How Important is Flushing???

Each year we seem to have a problem with roots clogging the pipes. Because of this we have to snake the pipe each year. It usually works. This time My husband and my dad were out there snaking away and nothing happened....nothing happened....nothing happened...and nothing happened.
So...Emergency call to the
'Good ole Water Works'
sit and wait. (by the way--I need to use the facilities)
Shawn pulls in with his trusty supplies from the water works.
Water gets muddy--He thinks it might be a collapsed pipe.
Now we all know what we are thinking...
Whose side is it on---My side or their side.
Dig--Dig--Dig--Dig
Water comes rushing out at the street
Why is it doing that????
Shawn replies---"I put a hole in the pipe"
Oh!!!
Well turns out that roots have filled our wonderful street pipes and they will be fixing it soon.
It's flagged out at the street and everything so
YEA!!!! It was on THEIR side!!!!!!!
Go Flush the Toilet!!!!!
Just because you can!!!

Hahaha - here in Mexico you NEVER put toilet paper in the toilet for that very reason! (Okay, we are able too in our house, thank goodness, but everywhere else? NO WAY!)

We were dealing with sewage problems about 4 months before we had to put our house on the market - we were also blessed that it ended up being the City's problem and not ours! I don't look forward to this when we move back someday!
