It's amazing that another school year is here. Did I really have the summer. I just think I went to sleep and woke up and another year began. I'm at that time of year when I meet parents and their children who need that extra help. I'm so very thankful to the parents who are so anxious to help their children. I know that they go so much farther when they get that same intervention at home. So, to all the parents out there that do as much (and more) as the teacher does with their children... Thank you. I appreciate it. In my realm of teaching it's those that don't receive that extra time at home that suffer! I love what I do-- I would never be a regular ed teacher. I'm not sure why. I just fit here. I enjoy the companionyship of some wonderful spirits. Spirits that are so lively they can't sit still for a minute. Whether it's rocking, tapping, bouncing, talking, patting... it doesn't matter. I don't know how many times in a day I say sit down. I should count one day. Anyway to help with the movement problem I decided to incoorporate it in my day. I put a huge alphabet on my floor. Simple black and white computer generated letters (lowercase only) on my floor. The boys are loving it. They spell all kinds of words. Of course they have to jump pretty far (2-3 ft) between a few of the letters. It's awesome. I'm glad I did it. I also put a jumbo sized number line on the floor too. They are able to move with what they are learning... An important part of learning.
Anyway... I did a lot of taping with painters tape. I have a WONDERFUL room! I'm happy there. I'm near most of the children that I service....
What am I getting at... you might ask????
I'M MOVING AGAIN!!!!
WHY!!!!!
We are having to split the third grade and Kindergarten.
Too many kids. So, I have to move.
Now mind you I don't mind if I have to and of course I have to.
BUT--I've only taught @ 2 years (a little less)
I've moved 2 times already--I just moved to a new classroom over the summer.
I've spent a lot of time getting ready.
At least I'm at the same school
RIGHT????
Oh Well!!!!
I love my kids this year.
only K-2nd grade. AWESOME.
Last yr K-5th... CRAZY YEAR!

It is great to hear how happy you are with what you are doing. I love it when my kids have a teacher as loving and caring as you! Sorry about the having to move - I remember when that happened last year (only to a different school, right?). And the idea of the alphabet on the floor for them to spell out words? THAT is brilliant!
