It's so fun. You think your straight A child is on top of the work. You think she's done her research and your ready to begin the experiment. you think her knowledge of what she needs is right. You think that your time-line of events is perfect and everything will get done in time.

Mom does her research (which honestly we know I should have done it first!!!)
Iodine isn't just iodine anymore. The iodine we need has been removed from the shelf to keep people from abusing it!!! It's poisonous. Love the abusers don't we!!!
Mom does searches on the computer. looking for this wonderful SMALL LITTLE bottle of iodine for 30$... What pluss overnight/2day shipping to get it here $50.00. I just don't think so.
Find it on a kids science lab sight for $4.00. MUCH better. Plus $15 2 day shipping. put in order w/ confirmation!!!
Now I look and I need soluble starch.
Guess what. You can't find this either.
I email the company hoping they add it to my existing order before they ship it. I would rather it be included on the already existing 2 day shipping!!!!
I knew that I've always hated science fair projects. Now, I know I hate them regarless what side of the fence you sit on. Student or Parent!!!! It's not fun. Now we are losing 4 days of experiment time....

Yes, I think projects are just torture for parents. My sister has always made me help her with her kid's projects, but I guess that is just payback because she always helped me with mine when I was in school!
I do not look forward to stuff like this at all!! I think that is when Nick will come in and do more of the parenting!!
Nah, Nick will come in and do it so it's perfect and then his kid'll win. That's how us Bettes' do it. I'm trying to be better this year and let her do it....
I'm taking one step at a time. It's very hard to relinquish the control. It would be so much easier if I just did it!!!
